What a year it’s been for Family Doctors Plus! We turned one in March and we’re so proud of what we’ve achieved so far, both as a business and in service to our community.
This year has seen our team continue to grow. New GPs and allied health professionals have joined us, expanding our ability to provide you with holistic care from experienced professionals. We are grateful to our health professionals and administration staff for their fantastic work this year.
The wellbeing of our community remains our top priority. Our education sessions have been so popular that we are expanding our building to include a seminar room to accommodate larger groups! We continue to develop new education sessions, including Puberty for Girls and Boys and a Multidisciplinary School Readiness seminar, and to focus on education through our website and social media (including Brisbane Kids), and on the air on ABC Radio Brisbane.
Our fundraising efforts in 2017 focused on cancer and children, with fundraising for Cancer Council Queensland and toy donations to Hummingbird House and daycare centres in Chermside.
Our doctors and nurses also provide healthcare to residents in Tricare and Wesley Mission Qld aged care communities, collaborating with The Joint Physiotherapy and PsychEquip to provide additional services. One of our residents turned 100 this year and we gifted her a frame for her letter from the Queen.
We are immensely proud to have won the 2017 Telstra Queensland Business of the Year Award as well as the New Business Award, and to have been finalists in the Brisbane Lord Mayor’s Business Award.
