High Ankle Sprains

The lateral (outside) ankle ligaments account for most ankle sprains but there is another important group of ligaments that are often overlooked; the syndesmotic ligaments. Injury to these ligaments is known as a “high ankle sprain.”

Most commonly injured by twisting the foot when it is planted on the ground e.g. Football tackle, twisting in a hole etc.

Early detection is the key for a good prognosis and recovery!
