GP, Diploma in Occupational Medicine
Dr Norman Dawes graduated from Birmingham University in the UK before embarking on a general practice career in Worcestershire. In addition, he undertook work in Emergency Medicine and Occupational Medicine, obtaining a Diploma in Occupational Medicine in 1997. He has a special interest in occupational health.
Dr Dawes migrated with his family to Australia in 2004 and settled in Mackay. He attained his Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2004 and became an Australian Citizen in 2006. He helped set up North Mackay Medical later to be renamed Occupational Health Alliance. He enjoys all aspects of general practice. He is experienced in the field of occupational medicine including coal mine medicals, pre-employment medicals, AMSA medicals, driving medicals, work cover, return to work and injury management. He is a registered AMA with the Qld Health Surveillance Unit and is registered to perform Qld and NSW Coal Medicals and Qld Mineral Mine and Quarry Medicals.
