Dr Alexandra (Ally) Pietsch graduated from the University of Queensland with Bachelors of Medicine, Surgery and Science (MBBS, BSc). Working in the hospital system for several years provided experience in a variety of medical specialties, however she has always known her passion lies in General Practice. Ally has completed her Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP), and loves that being a GP enables her to provide continuity of care to patients of all ages with diverse healthcare needs.
Ally has particular interests in paediatrics, pregnancy care, women’s health, and sexual health. Her additional qualifications include a Diploma of Child Health and the FPAA National Certificate of Reproductive & Sexual Health. She is trained in IUD (Mirena, Kyleena, and Copper) insertion and removal procedures, as well as implanon insertion/removal, iron infusions, toenail procedures, cryotherapy, skin excisions, and ear microsuction. She will start inserting IUDs at Family Doctors Plus in the future once the equipment for the procedure arrives.
When not at work, Ally loves to travel with her husband and is now particularly grateful for all of their past overseas adventures! Lately they have been exploring the local parks and beaches of beautiful Southeast Queensland, trying to tire out their mischievous puppy.
