To prevent constipation it is recommended you eat a healthy diet rich in fibre (30g per day). This includes fruit and vegetables. wholemeal or wholegrain bread instead of white bread, brown rice instead of white rice, legumes, some nuts and some seeds. Of course we are all different and some of you may be intolerant or allergic to some foods which is why we recommend you speak to a dietitian if you have any concerns and definitely not to eat foods you are allergic to. Dietitian Peita Hynes works at Family Doctors Plus and she is a great source of help if you have any queries. For appointments please call 33578192.
